20. April 2009Ordinations of Eight Permanent Deacons in Mumbai, India April 4th, 2009 was yet another `red letter day' in the history of the Archdiocese of Bombay. On that day eight married men were ordained Permanent Deacons by Cardinal Oswald Gracias for the Archdiocese of Bombay, in the city of Mumbai, India. Although Cardinal Ivan Dias had ordained the first set of Married (Permanent) Deacons on 22nd January, 2006, this was only the second set of Married (Permanent) Deacons ordained in India. read more...
