The work of the IDC

The work of the IDC:

• Supplying regular information and literature about the permanent diaconate.
• Publishing the periodical Diaconia Christi
• Contacting and exchanging views with groups and individuals working for the renewal of the permanent diaconate.
• Organising international study conferences dealing with important points about the diaconate and diaconal work.
• Offering views and papers on the diaconate for use at Conventions, Bishops' Conferences and Synods.
• Co-operation in developing new models for diaconia and diaconate within the Church.
• Collaboration with the media, in supplying authentic diaconate information.
• Ecumenical co-operation with diaconal communities of other Church communities.
• Encouragement and advice on the establishment and development of the diaconate in various countries.
